Today is Athena's 5th birthday!! It is a difficult day for us. We are caught between the emotions of wanting to celebrate Athena's life & the 5 beautiful years that we have been blessed to have raised her, & then the thoughts creep in when we are singing "Happy Birthday", that this might be the last time we get to sing that to her. It is an extremely emotional day for me, as many people witnessed today!!
Athena, unlike her emotional basketcase mommy, had a wonderful day today, surrounded by family & friends. The fact that Athena is now a year older has made me that much more determined to keep fighting to my last breath to raise enough money & awareness...whatever it takes.... to save Athena.
